Downtown tunnels and one Skyview

About the Greet:

Houston has 7+ miles of underground tunnels! Why? They’re helpful so workers in the many corporate buildings can get among them without going outside on city streets. Also, the tunnels have lots of services that appeal to office workers – lunch facilities, barber shops, salons, doctors, dentists, some clothing, gift stores, banks, etc. We will meet at an agreed upon downtown location and walk around the tunnel system and certainly see the amazing view from high above the city. It’s a lot of walking but always enjoyable. Coffee breaks and ice creams stops often occur! The Houston tunnel system is not open on weekends.

About Me:

I have been in Houston for several years now and find the tunnel system amazing. I did not realize how helpful it can be to scoot around below ground instead of traveling "overland". It's one of the unique features in Houston and I like to show it to visitors.

  1. Best experience in Houston

This tour was one of my favourite experiences in Houston. Ken was very kind and welcoming. He was nice to communicate with, flexible with the meeting point and time.
We went to the downtown together, started with the tunnel system, and walked around the streets. He showed me beautiful buildings from the inside. I have learned so much about history, art, architecture, even some local fun facts. During the tour, he often asked for feedback and customized the routes and stories.
I am glad that I went for this walk and would highly recommend it to anyone.

  2. Amazing tour

This downtown tour is far more than I’ve expected. The historic buildings and modern skyscrapers, the tunnels and streets are so fancinating. And ken really knows a lot about architecture and history of Houston, he is a great guide! I would highly recommend friends who are new here to visit downtown.

  3. Amazing Tour!

I have done this tour a couple of times and just love it! Both Susan and Ken are outstanding and I really learned a lot about Houston (as well as Texas) and recommend this to anyone interested in walking around Downtown and experiencing the underground as well.

  4. Houston Tunnel

Susan was our tour guide for the Houston Tunnel.
She shared with us the architecture, the arts work in the lobbies.
She was great and we all had a great time.
I also got to meet some incredible people in this tour.
    Susan, Thanks again.

  5. Absolutely the best kind of experience!

I am totally surprised at how much fun we had in the Houston downtown tunnels. We laughed, saw new things, met wonderful people, had an amazing lunch and just had a spectacular day. We trekked one way streets, paid parking places, set off security alarms, ran through the rain and traffic. There was not a single part of the day that wasn’t the best kind of experience. All of this happened at the scary downtown Houston! Imagine…
Susan knows how to show off an already beautiful city with a rich history.

  6. wow!

I did the tour with Susan, and I just loved it! This is a really interesting part of Houston, another life underground that you cannot imagine, especially at lunch time when the streets are empty outside because of the heat, without forgetting to mention the view over Houston from very high! Susan was a great greeter and I recommend her! I did the tour with my 2 year-old in a stroller and she adapted very well to him (and he liked the tour too!). Thank you so much!

  7. fun and interesting time in downtown the tunnels in

Ken met us warmly and we began an interesting tour of the historic downtown buildings and tunnels. He held our interest with many stories of the both the people, the architecture, the ornamentation of lobbies, elevators and more. We would highly recommend Ken to guide any visitor coming to Houston.
