If you’re here for a short visit, seeing Houston with an “insider” – a Houston Greeter – will offer you a quick overview. If you live here, you might welcome an insider to show you particular parts of the city you don’t know.

Discovering interesting parts of Houston with a volunteer Greeter is simple. Start by following these basic steps!
1. Browse the site to see what interests you
Take some time to browse the site to see what Greets are available and what may catch your interest. Be sure to note when the Greet/Greeter is available so it fits your personal schedule. Sometimes Greet times are flexible.
2. Contact The Greeter
Once you have found a Greet that interests you and is compatible with your schedule, fill out the “Request Greet” form and send your request to the Greeter. You should receive a response from the Greeter in a day or two to confirm or adjust the time and place of your Greet. Please contact the Greeter well in advance (1-2 weeks) of your proposed Greet.
3. Discover Houston!
Meet your Greeter at the time and place you have agreed upon. Enjoy learning a side of Houston that only a local will know. Expect to spend between 1 and 3 hours together and remember, you may be walking for much of it! Following your Greet you will have an opportunity to review and evaluate the experience.
