TDECU Stadium

TDECU Stadium is the home of the University of Houston Cougars football team, bringing big-time college football back to campus after decades at off-campus venues. Opened in 2014, this 40,000-seat on-campus stadium was built to create an electric game-day atmosphere popular with fans and sports bettors in Texas alike and anchor the university's athletic ambitions.

The stadium features one of the largest video boards in college football, a state-of-the-art sound system, and premium club seating with panoramic views of the downtown Houston skyline. Since the University of Houston joined the Big 12 Conference, the matchups and atmosphere have elevated to a new level, attracting more attention from Texas sports betting sites and college football fans statewide.

Game days bring out Cougar pride in full force. Tailgating along Wheeler Avenue starts hours before kickoff, and the famous Cougar Walk — where the team walks through crowds of fans — has become one of the best pre-game traditions in college football.

Visitor Tips: Tailgating along Wheeler Avenue is the best way to experience game day — arrive early and bring your grill. Parking is available in campus lots and garages. The METRORail Purple Line stops at the UH campus, making it easy to avoid driving. For the best atmosphere, sit in the student section or near the Cougar Marching Band.
