Saint Arnold Brewing Company
Saint Arnold Brewing Company holds the distinction of being the oldest craft brewery in Texas, founded in 1994 by Brock Wagner when craft beer was virtually unknown in Houston. Today it's the city's most beloved brewery, with a massive beer hall, outdoor biergarten, and a lineup of beers that define Houston craft brewing.
The brewery's flagship beers include Fancy Lawnmower (a crisp Kölsch-style ale perfect for Houston's heat), Art Car IPA (a hoppy, citrusy India Pale Ale), and Amber Ale (a rich, malty classic). Seasonal and limited releases — especially the Divine Reserve series and Bishop's Barrel bourbon barrel-aged beers — draw devoted fans.
The beer hall and restaurant, opened in 2018 at their expanded East End facility, is a stunning space with soaring ceilings, long communal tables, and a full kitchen serving elevated pub fare including wood-fired pizzas, smoked meats, and creative snacks designed to pair with their beers.
The outdoor biergarten is one of Houston's best gathering spots — shaded by trees, with lawn games, live music on weekends, and a relaxed atmosphere that captures Houston's friendly spirit.
Visitor Tips: Brewery tours run on Saturdays and include tastings. The beer hall is open daily and doesn't require a tour ticket. Try a flight to sample multiple beers. The biergarten is dog-friendly and family-friendly until 8pm.
