Asia Society Texas Center
The Asia Society Texas Center is Houston's premier institution for exploring the art, culture, and contemporary issues of Asia and the Asian-American experience. The stunning building, designed by Yoshio Taniguchi (the architect behind MoMA's acclaimed renovation in New York), opened in 2012 and immediately became an architectural landmark.
The center presents rotating exhibitions of traditional and contemporary Asian art, drawing from major collections and emerging artists across the continent. Past exhibitions have explored everything from ancient Chinese bronzes to contemporary Vietnamese photography, always with an eye toward building understanding between cultures.
Beyond visual arts, the Asia Society Texas Center offers a rich calendar of cultural programs including film screenings, author talks, panel discussions on current affairs, cooking demonstrations, and performances of traditional and contemporary Asian music and dance. The center is also a leading voice in business dialogue between Texas and Asia.
