Liberty, Texas, USA

About the Greet:

Liberty is quintessential small town Texas within an hour drive of Houston. As the 3rd oldest incorporated community in Texas, history runs deep. For example, we celebrated our bicentennial in 1956 when I was 10 years old and a local lawyer, Price Daniel, was serving as the Governor of Texas.

My Greet will be a walking or bicycling tour of the town and the many attractions in our environs. You may select those that interest you most. You can’t see it all in one day.

In addition to our historic still thriving downtown and courthouse square, you may choose between the tastes of Texas with nibbles or meals at local restaurants, tours of the Regional Archives and Research Library, Cultural Center, museums, antique stores, walks along the white sandy banks of the historic Trinity River, bike rides and rambles around town, and hikes of varying length from a few to 10+ miles on well marked and maintained trails in the Trinity River National Wildlife Refuge.

We’ll give you Liberty, if you’ll give us a little time.

About Me:

I'm Ron. Born, raised and lived in Liberty for the first 18 years of my life, and since 1998, I also consider Houston, Memphis and San Francisco home.

I'm a retired computer database geek with teaching experience as well. These days, I'm a researcher, writer, storyteller, poet, historian, walking, bicycling, hiking, travel and food enthusiast.
